Constance Ramsey Bowden is a classically trained figurative artist with over fifty years of experience in painting, drawing, and sculpting the portrait. Having attended the Florence Academy of Art, Constance brings a lifetime of mastery and insight to her students. Artists from around the world come to study at her Richmond studio, Manchester Studios RVA, where tradition, technique, and creativity come together.
We are proud to occasionally host workshops with renowned guest instructors and friends such as Robert Bodem, Stephen Perkins, Charlie Mostow, Jessica Artman, Leroy Transfield, Rick Caselli, Cornelia Hernes, Simone Moritz, and Rick Weaver. These immersive workshops range from three days to two weeks and are open to all skill levels—beginners are warmly welcomed.
Our studio offers a relaxed, uplifting, and supportive environment in a stunningly restored 1928 bank building featuring 24-foot ceilings and expansive natural light. Join us and be inspired to create your best work in one of the most beautiful art spaces in Richmond.
